Every Friday, members of Front Range Community College’s Westminster campus writing club gather to share their work, critique their peers, and ultimately improve their writing abilities. Ryan Myong, the club’s new president, encourages all students to join the writing club to better their writing skills as the club has bettered his.
Sawyer Huffman, a Front Range Community College engineering student, sailed to victory over his competitors in the three-point shot contest at the High Plains Fitness Center on Jan. 26.
As a student at Front Range Community College, I pass the gymnasium every time I descend the stairs to the B-level. It’s rarely empty, often filled with the muffled noises of volleyball shoes squeaking on the court floor and basketballs hitting the backboards. The sounds of the gym are one with the college, and I have grown so accustomed to seeing the gym and hearing the noises that I overlooked just how those gym members got inside. As I put 2015 behind me and begin 2016 at Front Range Community College, I can’t help but reminisce about my experiences as a college freshman. As we all know, getting prepared for school can be difficult, and the first weeks of class are often overwhelming. Everything feels new and different. The former editor of The Front Page, Koa Avery, transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder this semester. Ergo, it’s a hectic time for The Front Page with an office move and the transition from printed editions to a fully-functional online-only student newspaper. The new website for The Front Page will be publishing content on a daily basis (Monday-Friday) this semester.
