The Student Life Center (SLC) has recently announced an up-and-coming student leadership conference. It is to be held at FRCC’s Westminster campus from Friday, November 14th to the 15th. It will be an opportunity for students from across the CCCS (Colorado Community College System) to share their leadership experiences, network, and workshop their ideas. Students from all 13 CCCS’s schools are encouraged to attend.
The stated goal of the conference is to encourage critical thinking, expand the
collective understanding of a diverse pool of student perspectives, encourage effective communication, help students maintain professionalism in their careers, help students improve their professional self-reflection skills, and give valuable insights into developing a resilient mindset.
The conference will host volunteer speakers alongside several paid speaking
positions. To participate in a speaking role, the candidate must fill out a speaker
application form, which will then be reviewed by the Conference Planning Committee for approval.
Students interested in speaking can either be solo or present with up to two co-facilitators. The submission deadline for speaking applications is set for November 5th.
Students who live 50 miles or more from the Westminster campus will have hotels provided as well as monetary reimbursement for fuel used in transit.
