No Power at FRCC?

Power outages!!!

FRCC Westminster Campus has experienced several power outages in the first weeks of the fall semester. The first occurred on August 27th and lasted from 6:57 a.m. to 9:56 a.m.; this event closed the campus and disrupted classes. FRCC sent notices to students, but provided no information about the cause of the outage.

The second outage was on September 9th and lasted from 8:07 am until 1 pm. This power outage again caused the campus to close and disrupted classes.

In addition to the power outages, there were also normal start-of-semester evacuation drills and fire drills. On August 31st, there was an evacuation drill at the Larimer Campus; a real fire occurred at Westminster Campus, leading to REAL EVENT notices being sent to students about the fire after all-clear notices were sent for the evacuation drill at Larimer Campus.

A meeting has been scheduled with Ethan Johnson to gather further information about these outages, their causes, and whether more are expected in the coming weeks.

According to information Ethan Johnson gave The Front Page, Xcel has noted that it is having a hard time keeping the school powered.
