A Celestial Question

What does the moon know?

Cycles of light, wax, and wane.

The moon whispers the secrets she finds.

She shifts through phases, a witness to us below.  What does the moon know?

The moon watches dreams.

They dance around her stars,

a cosmic ballet for one.

With spotlights of moonbeams,

The moon watches dreams.

With a dark blanket, the shadows play.

Without the sun there is a dance of darkness, the night’s parade.  They play a game of tag with slivers of the waning moon.  Toying with the childish shadows, the trees sway.  With a dark blanket, the shadows play.

A full moon commands the night.

Even in waning, her glow is powerful,

a celestial master.

Her stars are no rival to her light.

A full moon commands the night.

A peaceful scene, where life can silently grow,

all secrets washed away by tides through streams.  Even as dawn breaks, the moon stays for the day.  She watches as dreams take flight.

But…

What does the moon know?
