Halloween

“I believed I was safe, I was assured nothing else could possibly go wrong. And I was right that I was safe, but my troubles were anything but over. The danger was lingering and advancing quicker than my nightmares could convey or convince. My heart was pounding while my eyes filled with tears, knowing there was nothing else I could do. Running was pointless. Calling for help? A waste of breath. The end was near, and I hoped nothing more than that it would take me over and my mind would leave my body. However, I’m still waiting… for nothing.”
